The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) denounces what it called the “nefarious act” of the Assam Rifles “with the clear intention of disrupting the peaceful atmosphere in the Naga inhabited areas.” The NSF was referring to yesterday’s alleged intrusion of Assam Rifles troopers into the areas of the NSCN (IM) designated camp in Dimapur.
A note received here from the NSF stated – “While all the Naga national workers, irrespective of any faction are on a ceasefire with the Government of India for a permanent political settlement and peaceful coexistence, the action of the Assam Rifles creating fear psychosis in the minds of the common people and sending provocative messages to the national workers which is a against the ceasefire ground rules and wishes of the general public will not be accepted at any cause.”
The organization said the Assam Rifles’ action is “totally against the ceasefire agreement.”
“The federation will not tolerate any such incident which will bring another chaos as experienced in the past by the peace loving people. The federation further appeals to the chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group to abide by the ceasefire ground rules and respect the will and wishes of the Naga people,” the NSF added. MExN
