NTIMES 16OCT: GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM
Ministry of Information & Publicity
Press Release : 16th October 2012
REJOINDER TO MR.PRANAB DHAL SAMANTA
The NSCN is wondering how and where Mr.Pranab Dhal Samanta got the idea that the government of india has secured a written commitment from the NSCN that it will accept the Indian constitution. It appeared in the Indian express on Oct.15. 2012 under the caption “Breakthrough: NSCN commits to constitution”. If the Naga people under the Leadership of Isak-Muivah would like to accept the Indian constitution, they would have accepted the Shillong accord when it was signed. There would not have been political negotiations for such 15 long years.
What Mr. Pranab Dhal Samanta said may be a surprise to the Government of India also, because the Government of India and the NSCN are negotiating seriously to arrive at an honorable settlement. Freedom of the press does not mean freedom to meddle with the work of other people.
Perhaps, in the final analysis, Mr.Pranab must be attempting to hijack the peace process to serve his personal interest. But nobody will be thankful to him for this kind of scheme. He should not make fool of himself.
