UNC total bandh: 2 trucks burnt near District Council

Senapati, 27th Dec. 2012: Just two and half hours after imposing the 72hours Total Bandh in all Naga areas, unidentified miscreants suspected to be bandh supporters burnt down two trucks carrying FCS Rice near District Council, Senapati District H/Q moving for Sangaiprou, Imphal.

According to sources, the two ten tyres trucks bearing registration number WB-59A-4413 and JH-02L-9395 were burned down during early hours around 2:30am. One of the trucks has been totally damaged while the other has been safely moved to Senapati Police Station. According to the police, an FIR into the incident has been lodged. The identity of the truck owners is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, first day of the total bandh ended with all business establishments along the NH-2 totally shut down and vehicular movement restricted in maximum. Trucks were seen stranded at Lairouching and Mao gate areas. Moreover, Police were also seen deployed in all sensitive areas along the NH-2. The 72hrs Total bandh. THE
